What is Durangotan?

A person from Durango, Colorado, or the surrounding area (LaPlata and Archuleta counties, especially). The stereotypical "durangotan" drives a beater car; works at a tourist trap on Main Avenue; has a dog or three; drinks a lot; has a favorite beer from Steamworks, Ska and Carver's; runs, bikes, skis, snowboards or a combination of them alot; and is either far right or left wing. That is the usual use of Durangotan: the term, though, can be applied.

Go into any store on Main and chances are you will see a Durangotan behind the counter.
