when ones sleeping quarters reside in a small space between the mattress and ceiling (namely in a situation requiring one to crawl on hands and knees to reach pillow), and in an attempt to avoid creating a dutch oven, one rips ass outside of the sheets but effectively "dutches" their loft.
heat and stench rise, and the combination of the two results in a ripe and unforgiving gas chamber, known as a dutch loft.
