Egoblogger Edit Meaning

A blogger whose writing tends to have a self-aggrandizing or narcissistic tone. Egobloggers spend as much time promoting themselves and trying to get famous as they do writing their blogs.

One of the most famous egobloggers is Robert Scoble, of the technical blog Scobleizer. Nearly every biographical article about Mr. Scoble refers to him as an egoblogger.

Julia Allison (aka Jankles), of the website NonSociety, is also referred to as an egoblogger by Gawker Media, a fact which causes her considerable consternation. She infamously sent a text message to Owen Thomas, editor of Valleywag (part of Gawker Media), calling him a "little cunt" after he described her as an egoblogger in one of his posts.

If there is a camera around, egoblogger Robert Scoble is sure to get in front of it and spout his personal opinions.
