When someone's ego is so big that it literally 'smashes' all other concerns, problems, issues, etc., thus effectively making them the center of attention. Commonly attributed to politicians and celebrities.
A.J.: I really don't see what Amber's outburst about her and Nick's break-up had to do with the class's discussion on Beowulf.
