the act of researching a person somewhat obsessively and repeatedly on the internet; involves extensive viewing of pictures and gaining of knowledge of that person's favorite things to do, closest friends, etc. typically done with a popular networking site such as myspace or facebook.
I always e-lurk a guy beofre I'll even consider starting a text relationship. I want to know as much as possible about him, but will pretend to be very surprised when he tells me about his dog, Fluffy, and his spring break trip to Panama.
