A group of former /b/tards that were banned from 4chan for posting child porn. These former /b/tards (now just "tards") went and vandalized 4chan's Wikipediaarticle, and were promptly banned from there, too. Out of bitterness, these people began Encyclopedia Dramatica as a way to get back at the Internet and fill the gigantic void where their e-cocks used to be. Articles on Encyclopedia Dramatica usually consist of websites or people which are all branded as "unfunny" and/or "gay" because Encyclopedia Dramatica is the Absolute Internet Judge Of All That Is Funny And/Or Gay.
The pedophile was banned from a website, so he wrote an article about the website on Encyclopedia Dramatica.

A website dedicated to parodying mainly popular things on the internet, in the style of Wikipedia. Stuff they have articles on include memes and macros, amongst others. They also have articles on chatspeak, popular websites, and usergroups. Their articles usually contain little actual facts, and make little to no sense IRL. The site has been bashed for many reasons, due to it's innapropriate, borderline porn-site content, and making fun of topics often seen as serious. They mean it when they say they "do it for the lulz" (which is a popular phrase with users). However, the site was obviously not meant to be taken seriously, as many people will probably tell others who seem enraged by it. However, many also view Encyclopedia Dramatica as "going too far", because many times they not only parody certain topics, but spam and hack websites relating to that topic and post their content and opinions on there, too. They even poke fun at certain users on certain websites, these users often furious at what is said about them.
Personally, I find some of the content on ED (as it is commonly abbreviated) funny, even hilarious at times. However, some content does seem offensing if it bashes things I likeor do. If this happens, I just remind myself it is only a website, and proceed to do something else. I know it sounds corny, but that's my advice to you if you are ever pissed off by that site. Remember, if you hate someone, but they haven't done anything illegal, you can't get them arrested. Same goes for ED. If you can't handle ED, you shouldn't look on there, and if you can't avoid it, then throw your modem out the window because you can't handle the internet. Note, however, that users who are parodied on there may experience different emotions due to users often flaming them when they object.
ED even has an IRC chat room, but I am a noobtherefore I do not go in it. You might wanna though. I have no idea what's in there and no intention of finding out.
Just one more thing: THE SITE IS NOT SAFE FOR WORKI AM DEAD SERIOUS DO NOT SURF IT ON A PUBLIC COMPUTER.
Another thing, if you are squemish or offended easily by pictures, do not go on their either. Almost every page links to a page with a "disturbing" pic.
I bet the people from Encyclopedia Dramatica will give this definition thumbs down because it says not to take it seriously.

From crude, childish humor to people who hate your band, Encyclopedia Dramatica is the perfect representation of what the interwebs is REALLY all about. Lampooning everything including itself, ED puts a funny and often offensive twist on every conglomerated experience (good, bad, or otherwise) you've ever had on the internet. Free from guilt, remorse, or liability, its authors poke fun at (read: insult) everything from Live Journal feuds to politics, gay marriage to women's rights. Be it video games or porn search engines, nothing is sacred, everything is up for grabs, and if its popular or blog-worthy, you'll most likely find someone tearing it a new one on Encyclopedia Dramatica.
Most weekend lesbians are also attention whores, and will never actually do the deed should the situation arise. This only compounds on their total stupidity, as telling someone about how you drunkenly kissed another girl is like bragging to a black person about a really deep tan you had once.

An "encyclopedia" where people go to bash things that they dont like, but the majority of people do. The meeting place for 13 year olds who dont have that many freinds and spend all of their life on the internet writing hate-shit about jews, youtube, blacks, arabs, and etc.

You see many people describing hate for ED on Urban Dictionary. And you know what? They're mostly thumbed up.
Encyclopedia Dramatica is the most unfunniest pile of lies, racism, and shit that I've ever seen on the internet. Which, no, it's not serious business...I know you're being mocking of noobs, but how can you mock what you already are?
