In the early 21st century, the exploits of a highly attractive young man who enjoyed dressing as a woman "with these huge boobs" ironically (and unbeknown to him) led to a revival of the term; his name, incidentally, was Eon.

The baseball cap made the Eonist's outfit complete: only a close observer could detect latent hints of femininity beneath its plastic visor.
