What is Esthel?

Probably a different way of spelling Estelle. But may be it's derived from the name Esther, just changing the r at the end to l.
People dont seem to spell this name correctly often.
"So your name is spelt Estel right?"
"No you fool, how many times do I have to tell you, it's ESTHEL"
