What is Etays?
1.
Etays (pronounced EH-tays) is a Bally-Slang term which has its roots deep in the school itself. It's precursor, "Eshays", is the word used by many a Bally Boy to signify any positive meaning, ie. the word can be used to mean "yes" or to project any favorable and positive support (see examples below).
Etays has exactly the same meaning as its precursor and can be used in the same contexts; however, the word was famously coined by legendary Bally Boy Blake Malcolm, who in pretty much every General Maths class, would randomly shout out "CHANGE SIDE, CHANGE SIGN!" and then spread his arms, simulate a flying bird and chant "Awww Etays!"
Since then the word has been gaining mass popularity and notoriety within and outside the Bally Boy community.
Another recent offshoot has spawned strictly within the Bally Boy Bally-slang speaking community, and this offshoot too was hugely pioneered by aforementioned Blake Malcolm, who on occasion, instead of using Etays, would use Etoes (pronounced EH-toes). Like its brothers, it has exactly the same meaning and can be used in the same contexts.
