The practice of full-on, extreme searching for friends to add on Facebook, or other online social networks. It is especially appropriate when the search becomes obsessive in nature or solely for the purpose of boosting one's friend count.

e.g., a status update reading, "Jimbo is up too late facemining for old classmates."
