What is Fag-rock?

Fag-Rock utilises already established music genre's , ie: "mall pop", repetitive 4/4 patterns, truncated loops, arpeggiations, etc.
Examples of fag rock can be found in music that depicts men with "big hair", that uses scantily clad women, dancing in videos, to sell the music due to the fact that the music would not be able to sell itself.
Examples of fag-rock can be found in music from artists such as Bronski Beat, Erasure, Whitesnake, Winger, etc.
