What is Farofa?

1.

i)A South American food stuff that resembles sand, in look, colour and flavour.

ii)A person (particularly) in Brazil that takes a BBQ to the busiest beach on a hot sunny day. Usually idiothicks. Generally disliked by all other beach users.

I was down at Ipenema yesterday enjoying the sun and the views, and then along came a bunch of farofas...we were out of their like a shot.
