A generic insulting noun, coined by Butthead of MTV's Beavis and Butthead.
While they were watching the premier of
GWAR 's "Saddam a Go-Go" video, Beavis got in Butthead's line of view of the TV. Butthead shouted "Move it, fartknocker!"

Like Farmer or Smith, the name is derived from the process of actual fartknocking, which was used in Germanic warfare throughout the 19th century and up until WWII, when the Fartknocker family wouldn't allow their heritage to be sullied by association with the Nazi party. It involves torture through sulfur emissions done in close proximity to the enemies olifactory senses.
