Flailing Bowl Cut

What is Flailing Bowl Cut?

1.

A variation of the traditional bowl cut, the flailing bowl cut takes it form when one’s hair grows in thick for several months with no regard for order or combing. When in full effect, and with a medium to slight breeze, the flailing bowl cut looks like a bowl on one’s head, that is flailing.

Historically this hairstyle has been popular among the wealthy, and eventually spread from places such as Nantucket and Lake Tahoe to numerous cities throughout the United States and some parts of Northern Canada. In a few estranged cultures, the FBC is viewed as a sign of poverty: that person could not afford a barber. In actuality, this hairstyle is a sign of great wealth, and many who don this look have complete disregard for the appearance due to their strong bank statements and stock portfolios.

The bowl cut is a comparable to the Beatle haircut from the 1960’s, which is slightly less bowl-like, and less flailing.
