What is Flannelette?

A bastardised fabric, where upon cotton fibres are raped by bogans until a red, white and black pattern discharge occurs.
Popularised in the 1990's by grunge and rock and roll bands, flannelette has now become the fabric of the west. It is the material of choice for many bogans and sheila's alike, but has no place in any middle class or high class social setting, not even an rsl. Thus universities look down on those that would wear it, putting them even below the losers who wear their pyjamas to lectures.
Against popular belief flannelette is not coming into fashion, whether or not reputable stores stock (apparently) this form of clothing or not.
