What is Flashburn?

The burn inflicted on materials and people from the intensity of the initial flash of a nuclear device or large conventional bomb detonating at a range outside the immediate blast radius.
Observers of the the first nuclear tests in the Mojave Desert suffered from what appeared to be a sunburn but were in fact the first documented cases of the damage that caused by the radiation released in the first initial flash of the bomb.

The burn inflicted on human flesh by standing too close to the muzzle of a gun as it is being fired. Often suffered in close quarter combat.
Johnny, the lead man in the SWAT team, suffered first degree flash burns to his face after entering the room and engaging the hostage takers who opened fire at close range.
3.
The stain on your underwear from an unexpectedly wet fart.
"Man, I thought I just had to rip one and ended up with a flash burn"
