Founding Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist. A living example of one of the world's best musicians. He isn't my fave Chili-Pepper when it comes to looks, but he is a genius and deserves all the love, respect and money he gets. We're with you flea!

Flea's real name is Michael 'Flea' Balzary. He is 5'9 and he has appeared in several movies and he is the voice of Donnie in the Nickelodeon cartoon series, 'The Wild Thornberrys'. Not exaclty a looker, but his talent makes up for it big time.

Michael "Flea" Balzary is the bassist for the funk rock band The Red Hot Chili Peppers. His playing style is generally slap bass, but has started using a pick in RHCP's newer songs. (his first time using a pick was on Parallel Universe) He's been in quite a few movies such as his role as a nihilistin The Big Lebowski and as Donnie in The Wild Thornberrys Movie. He also is one of the more tattooed members of the band. His current gear list includes (basses) his signature Modulus basses, a few Music Man Stingrays, a few Fender Jazz basses, which go through (pedals) an Electro-Harmonix Q-Tron, a MXR microamp, and finally a Boss ODB-3 Overdrive pedal, which (amp) are powered by three Gallien Krueger 2001 RB heads with a GK 4x10 and 1x15 speaker cab each.

Flea is the reason I started playing bass.

Micheal Balzary, more commonly known as Flea, has proven time and time again that his bass guitar skills are beyond that of which many musician could ever hope to achieve. Flea is an complete dynamo, and gives RHCP a totally different feel from any other band. Flea was born in Australia, but moved to the US where he met co-founder of RHCP, Anthony Kiedis. Together they formed a band that has no competition when it comes to originality and skill. Flea also plays the trumpet at an extraordinary level. He is an amazing man. That is why I love him.

Flea breaks out his trumpet and bass skills at Hyde Park, that crazy little man rocks my world.
