To make something worse by trying to fix it. Often happens when someone refuses to ask for help or thinks they are better at something than they really are.
I really fobbled when I tried to fix my computer, now its on fire!

The action of an animal (deer, rabbit, chipmunk, etc) that has a potentially fatal run-in with a vehicle.... survives.... and keeps on going
When Maggie hit the deer, it got up and fobbled down the road.
