v. The act of hitting or striking a broken, inanimate object (especially electronic devices) with the hope that it will start to work properly again. This action was commonly used by the "Happy Days" TV character Arthur Fonzarelli when the jukebox at Arnold's Drive-In was not working properly.

Harry: "Hey, the printer isn't working! <banging his hand on the printer>"

Sally: "It's a delicate machine, you might break it if you Fonzie it!"
