What is Franchisacide?

Verb. The act of killing a franchise via the production of superfluous sequels or spin-offs.

Term first coined by Yahtzee Croshaw: "George 'Franchisacide' Lucas"

Star Wars films I-III and the Lego Star Wars game are examples of franchisacide.
