From verb "frin": frown attempt overruled by amusement
Origin: I received "frinning" as a typo and knew it was just too good a word to waste. The writer was a dear friend who made a lot of typos, which sometimes became exasperating but were often funny, and I realized I was, at that very moment, frinning myself.
"OMG Jane, you sent that cartoon to your MOTHER?!!" Steve partly SHOUTED, frinning devilishly.
