A person who hangs out all day in the Safe Room. Can usually be found playing halo, making duct tape apparell, seeing who knows the most lord of the rings quotes, and looking like a complete freak in the eyes of his peers.

a word fabricated by certain members of the Pingry School senior class of 2005 to describe other students, specifically those who eat lunch in the Safe Room. The Safe Room is a classroom with couches given over to this purpose as well as holding Psychology classes. Anyone is allowed to be there as long as they are tolerant of everyone else in the room. The implication of the fact that that this word is not used in front of the people it supposedly describes indicates fear of the students who eat there. They can generally be described as wearing clothing not found at the Short Hills Mall and are usually involved in the art departments instead of the more popular athletics. It also has been the base of operations for many incarnations of the Gay-Straight Alliance over the years. These many types of students have found a sort of refuge in the Room from the disapproval of their peers for not following what is expected of them. It has been around for decades of students and will continue to be so despite the bigotry and ridiculously average criticism of a few jealous students. Pingry is a small school and so the "alternative" community is proportionately smaller and therefore can find a haven in a place among people like them, much like a lunch table or any of the many other "hang-outs" throughout the school used by other students. This community can include those with alternative lifestyles, alternative ways of dressing, and who participate in alternative activities, along with any other tolerant students.
Pingry students who are too lazy to say "Safe Room kids" have resorted to the supposedly derrogatory "froomer."

Froomer is a word that has come into common usage in society and deserves specific mention in this online setting. When a man and woman think that they are ready to handle responsibilities and decide that they love each other very much they will often conceive a child. This child at birth is like many other children but at one point this child decides that they do not like the rules and regulations set up by normal society. At this point they take a sworn oath to become a froomer.
A froomer is a person who rejects all that is normal by the rest of the world. They enjoy making duct tape bags, dressing in apparel meant for catching fish or other small aquatic creatures, listening to so called emo music and cutting themselves for pleasure. They think that they stand out and are unique but are truly gay. Being called a froomer is one of the most offensive words anyone can use towards you and once being called a froomer you are immediately required to show that your Ipod contains no Dashboard Confession music. It is a standard practice of proving your straightness and showing the accuser that you do in fact like the opposite sex and not your own.

A faggot or dyke who spends their days in the "Safe Room." They think that they are cool, but are in fact the biggest losers of society. They can be sighted wearing all black, fishnets, duct tape or excessive amounts of dark eyeliner/lipstick. They also participate in plays and other homo thesbian activities. Froomers cannot be trusted as they are all narcs. THEY ONLY WANT ATTENTION...DO NOT GIVE IT TO THEM.
