What is Gatebird?

A girl or woman (or "bird") who waits at the gates of a famous person hoping to catch a glance of the person or get an autograph. Used mostly when referring to a member of the BEATLES's house in England. Used in the 60's a lot.

The young gatebird waited outside of Paul's home anxiously to catch a glance of her heart-throb.
