In England, gav has become the accepted term for a gay chav, derived from a shortened form of this term. Either a gay lad who identifies with the chav lifestyle and becomes a chav through choice, or a chav who just happens to be gay. These days it is strongly advisable NOT to call out "Gav" to address people called Gavin (in England anyway) as this could lead to a rather unfortunate misunderstanding.
