What is Gen X?

People born between 1961 and 1981. Generation X. Sometimes called the 'Slacker' generation. Preceded by Baby Boomers and followed by Gen Y.

Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, Keanu Reeves are all members of Gen X.

An abbreviation of the term "Generation X", which refers to anyone born (usually in the US) between approx. 1965-1976.

Preceded by the "Baby Boomer" generation and followed by "Generation Y", Gen Xers were stereotypically portrayed by the media as cynical, nihilistic, underachieveing "slackers" who wore piercings and listened to grunge music (popular in the 90's when Gen Xers were mainly in their twenties).

Pepsi released its new advertising campaign today, primarily targeted at Gen Xers.
