Ghetto Method Edit Meaning

A method of determining pregnancy that does not simply count the days since the start of last menstruation.

I don't actually know the ghetto method but overheard the phrase in a conversation on the trolley about whether the couple had an unplanned pregnancy.

"I'm only one day late if you use the regular way. Using the ghetto method, I'm a week late."
