What is Gillism?

A common and dysfunctional conversational practice in which the listener turns the speaker's experience around in order to make themselves and their experience, point of view, situation, the central and singular focus of the conversation.

"My husband was out of town on business on Father's Day."

Gillism response: "My Tony was on his death bed on Father's Day with a triple ear infection and poison ivy over 80% of his body, and a fever of 104 DEGREES!!!"
