Goins is the most common name in the Mestees of the Southeast. Graysville, Tennessee, is the only incorporated town with a Melungeon majority.

Many ancestors of the Goins of Graysville were Goinstown Indians from Rockingham, Stokes and Surry counties, NC, and Henry and Patrick counties, VA.
