As in "go for" ball, used in baseball to refer to a pitch hit for a homerun.

Don't throw a hanging curve with a 2-0 count...gopher ball for sure.

A home run or round tripper, a combination of "Go four" as in the number of bases you round on a home run.

The pitcher threw too many gopher balls and was taken out of the game.
