What is Gypsy Christmas?

On a college campus or other place that has a whole neighborhood with the same start/end date on a rental lease, the day everyone's lease ends and everyone is moving out. With so many people moving out, every street is filled with couches, chairs, tables, and countless other things that can be picked up for those looking for free things. It's a Gypsy Christmas!
Mike: "Hey man, that's a nice couch, where'd you get it?"
Tom: "On the street, someone was throwing it out during move out day"
Mike: "Gypsy Christmas special?"
Tom: "Of course. Only way I get my furniture"
