Hannem

What is Hannem?

1.

The word 'Hannem' originated in cycling circles to describe a rider that is; slow, lacking fundamental bicycle handling skills, adept at pre-race 'trash-talk', prone to violent thoughts and outbursts or generally capable of extended unexplained disappearances (often following a poor performance at a race or event).

Recently 'Hannem' has started to appear in pop-culture as a means of describing an individual/thing/result in a less than favorable light without using words with obvious negative connotations or phrases that contain base profanity.

CYCLING:

"Tom what's with this 55 minute lap? Did you have a mechanical or did you Hannem it?"

"It was only a little log but I went over the bars hard, I guess the Hannem in me took over"

"This guy stopped dead at the entrance to the rock garden then walked around it - we all had to wait - the bloody Hannem"

"You can Hannem this race all you want but eventually you have to ride, then we'll see."

"He went all Hannem on the bus, something about breaking a squirrels neck and skinning it..."

"I haven't seen you since the 24hr, have you gone Hannem on us?"

POP CULTURE:

Mark "Was Bryce coming tonight?"

Marc "Please, he went all Hannem after thanksgiving, no one has seen him since."

"I went to the dentist last night and despite a 5pm appointment they made me wait a Hannem long time."

"It's Kraft Dinner, how do you Hannem that?"

"The order was delivered yesterday but it's not what I wanted, basically they Hannemed it and it has to go back."
