Literal translation from farsi (iranian) is 'shame' or 'waste'.
It is now used when looking at someone with a lot of potential that doesn't use it.
i.e. "Look at the boy. he's good looking, well dressed, rich , good job, nice car, good family and NO punai, such a HEIF."
or "If i was him, I'd be dead with AIDS by now, such a HEIF"
