Helston

What is Helston?

1.

A small place in England where such stars as Bob Fitzsimmons, Hannah Toon and Kitsune Noir origionated. Twinned with a small town in Italy, it takes pride in its traditions, and every year celebrates the coming of spring on the 8th May with the "Flora Day" celebrations, which include the Hal an Tow, which re-enacts George and the Dragon, and St Micheal and the Devil. This happens in the main street and travels about Helston early in the morning. Just after this is the 7 00 dance, in which men and women dance through the streets. Later, is the 11 00 where the children do the same "Furry Dance" around the town, all dressed in white. Then, at Midday, women and men do the same dance, but in ball gowns, hats and top hats. Later, at five, the 7 00 dancers dance again (often under the influence of alcohol). On this day the small town is packed, there is stalls, and a fair, and lots of drinking. A happy, although often wet day to be had by all.

I went to Helston's Flora Day in may, it was awesome!

I heard that Joe went to Bob Fitzsimmons house and has a photo next to it!! He even drunk in a pub named after him!

2.

A particularly unpleasant little town in Cornwall, famous for a sweet little dance that it is inordinately proud of but the rest of Cornwall laughs at. Has a few good pubs (actually just the one - the Angel) and an epically crappy theme park called Flambards, which has one good ride, which is normally broken. Its one claim to fame is that every other town in the country is to the north of Helston. That's it.

Let's go to Helston! On second thoughts, that would be a bad idea.

See helston, shithole
