Here's Your $0.65

What is Here's Your $0.65?

1.

A phrase used as an argument for when somebody says something so good about a product that it seems like they're being paid by the company themselves.

This phrase derives from the 2009 scandal involving Belkin, where employees of Belkin hired people on Amazon's 'Mechanical Turk' to write positive reviews about their products - in return for 65 cents.

Fred: Oh my god, this TV has everything anybody could ever want in a TV. It sounds amazing, the picture quality is amazing, and it has loads of features such as 100Hz scanning, an integrated OTA digital tuner and other things! It is amazing! Buy it; you won't be disappointed!

Bob: Erm...okay. Here's your $0.65.
