What is Hispania?

Hispania is the name the Romans gave to the Iberian Peninsula (SW Europe). In this peninsula are nowadays Spain and Portugal (Spain=España=Hispania). The Romans also called Britannia (now Britain) or Germania (now Germany), or Italia (Italy), etc.

Great Roman Emperors, as Trajan or Hadrian, were born in Spain, formerly called Hispania.

The place were Hispanics come from. Commonly believed to be some where south of America though expert cartographers have yet to pin-point it's location.
