a. From the ancient Hindi word "hlogvaceook" which meant "nine-armed menace", a hoglahoo is generally any disruption that may occur in any logical or sensible conversation or activity.

b. More specifically, the word hoglahoo can be used to identify certain members (and sometimes esp. non-members) of society deemed to be twits, morons, dolts, yahoos, houligans, cretins, yokels, and the like by any reasonable passers-by.
