The close female companion of a gay man, considered to be a much higher status than a faghag. The homowife carries most of the same characteristics, privileges, and responsibilities of the wife in a hetero marriage, except for the obvious.

My homowife surprised me with tickets to "Hairspray" for our anniversary. I can't wait!
