Only the most-connected individuals, including those who are driven and dedicated to their work and others who can afford to slack and get by with C's because they are children of alumni. Always refers to students and alumni of Cornell's elite Hotel School, the world's leader in hotel administration. People and other schools try to mimic, but always land far from the best.
Being a Hotelie is NOT just about managing a hotel; if you really think that hotel management is solely about managing hotels, you need to rethink your outlook.
Girl 1: Hey, I'm a student at the Hotel School!
Girl 2: No way! You're a Hotelie? Oh, they are the best people at Cornell!
