an environment that is so excruciatingly hot that one feels like they are in the African desert. "Hotter" may also be substituted with other words, (faster, bigger, sicker, darker) to fit alternative situations.
"It's hotter than Africa outside!"
"I stayed home yesterday because I was sicker than Africa."
"You should take a shower, man, you're smellier than Africa."
