Hotware - Computer applications used illegally.
Either the CD key or the CD itself has been stolen and used illegally or used in violation of the rules set down in the EULA.
First used in a conversation between pirates, early 2004 and grew from there.
Opposite of coldware.
"there is so much HOTWARE on this system, if we get audited we are in trouble".
