I don't know if they are oblivious of their surroundings (obviously not if they can glomp their friends from a mile away) or if they just don't care. My theory for the grouping of said people is the motion of hugging gives the whole group widespread orgasms. These groups are often formed by teenyboppers in between each passing period and disperse in a frenzied stampede in every direction 5 seconds before the tardy bell rings. The term for a group of huggy bears is a HERD.
