A city, town or community primarily occupied by androgynous ex-hippies, vegans, activists of all types -- animal, anti-war, anti-bush, anti-nukes, etc. with a known affinity for hummus and other natural foods -- granola, hemp, etc.
Wearing my Bush '04 t-shirt with cigarettes rolled up in the sleeve and Big Mac sauce dripping down my face, I entered the humus belt with trepidation oniy the find the residents were oblvious to my presence. Their attention was focused on a group of folk singers in the town square.
