a really stupid thing to say that tends to lead people on and results in someone getting hurt because it is hard to see the person they love with a new guy/girl.
She said "I want a break because I want to see other people. I agreed and she met some guy and broke up with me. Now it's over and I can't believe it. Then I found out that she already had the guy in mind when she came up with the idea.
