4. The act of a Quileute werewolf falling "in love" with someone--basically "love at first sight" but much more powerful and much more absolute; the love is not always a "romantic" love, but rather, simply UNCONDITIONAL love in general--brother-sisterly, romantically, whatever.
Imprinting was supposed to be a rare exception, but several of Jacob's pack mates were already imprinted in Eclipse. Jake would eventually imprint, too--on Renesmee, Bella's vampire hybrid daughter.
