What is Interlectual Property?

1.

A legal entitlement which sometimes attaches to the expressed form of an idea, or to some other abstract subject matter. This reflects that the idea is a product of one's mindor intellect, and that propertyrights can be applied to these ideas and that they may be protected by lawin the same way as any other form of property.

John's idea to promote reality television became his own interlectual property and will earn him substantial royalties from here on out.
