1. Putting on your audio headphones or earbuds without music playing in order to give the message to the people around you that you don't want to be disturbed;
2. introphoning: The same action as #1, to invoke the cognitive reflex of concentration resulting from years of having headphones on to play music during periods of focused work.
1. People kept coming to my cube to talk, so I got introphoned so maybe they'd get the hint I'm busy.
2. After a couple of hours the music gets distracting, so she turns it off and goes introphoning.
