A large group of narrow-minded, usually internet dwelling people who attack anyone whose use of the term irony doesn't conform to their rigid, overly specific definition of it.

Irony Police Officer: "Alanis Morissette doesn't know what irony is!! Duhhh, rain on your wedding day's just unfortunate!!

Some Guy: But don't people expect their wedding day to be perfect, the ultimate good day? And doesn't rain symbolize a bad or imperfect day? And so wouldn't bad weather on a wedding day be an unexpected outcome, and therefore ironic?

Irony Police officer: Uhh... No, I once saw this stand-up comedian, and he said the events described in that song were unfortunate. Stand-up comedians are always right.
