The realization by mainstream media that Jack Thompson, anti-video game violence lawyer, is a senseless, irrational, babbling fool; began after Thompson claimed that the Virginia Tech gunman Cho Seung-Hui played Counter-Strike, despite the fact that no information about the identity of the gunman had been released at the time to remotely suggest this. Coined by gaming website Joystiq.

Jack Thompson suffered Jacklash from the media, including Chris Matthews and MSNBC, after riding the tragedy at Virginia Tech for a cheap political agenda.
