The word derives its origin from the Jahra Bedouin term "Jalikh" and it refers to the art of self-pleasure, or auto-stimulation. The term was popularized through an infamous voice-mail scandal involving a famed Kuwaiti celebrity known only by her screen name "Sarita" (rumors are that she has recently changed this alias to "Princess Sara") The word has thus developed numerous derivatives such as tijillikh, Jalkha, and of course the currently used version: Jalookhi
