Jar-ism

What is Jar-ism?

1.

Changing of fact for no apparent reason by the Joint Aviation Authority in the Theoretical Knowledge requirements for an ATPL(a)

Information required to be known by trainee pilots studying for a JAA-ATPL(a) which is not representative in any way, shape, or form of what actually occurs in reality.

In some cases, the definition of a word may differ depending on which module or subject you are studying. The same is true with key figures.

An example Jar-ism is that the el-nino phenomenon does not exist. (According to JAA when studying global climatology as part of the meteorology syllabus.)

Procedures and figures used in reality are completely different to those required to be known to pass the JAA Theoretical ATPL(a) Exams.
